Half a decade after DadRides, mom and dad are on the road again. But this time, Mom Rides.
The goals? Whatever they want, obviously. The plans are hazy. The map is vague. The trajectory is, for now, northeasterly. Where else to start, but from home? Beginning in Orem, UT, the ‘rents’ plan is to draw a giant triangle(ish) across the states. Mom and Dad will make some broad, sweeping trails zigzagging the old DadRides path, hitting the sightseeing they were too tired (sorry) and driven (really sorry) to stop at last time. They’ll cross a few borders, skirt a few more, swing south through the Bible Belt for awhile, then eventually meander back home in a couple of months in time for the holidays. Probably.
One could ask (in the spirit of Fastball), where they were going without ever knowing the way? But these days, the Garmin is built into our phones, so as long as they have service, the road is paved in gold.
Follow along with us on the path, stop in to interact with our shiny new vibe-coded map feature, and if you’re feeling generous, venmo Mom to contribute to the Platt Drives fund! (Their birthdays are in September, but if you ship them presents, they won’t get them until Thanksgiving. Just saying.)
See you on the road!
